RESOLIITION ESTABLISHING TARGFsTED RECYCLABLES FOR 1993
WHEREAS, Dakota County and the City of Mendota Heights have
entered a Joint Powers Agreement to accomplish landfill abatement
programs through recycling; and
�iiEREAS, on February 21, 1989 the City Council approved the
Rubbish Hauling Ordinance and the recycling provisions requiring
all licensed haulers to provide recycling services and collect
targeted recyclables, at a minimum; and
WHEREAS, the City of Mendota Heights implemented a curbside
and multi-family recycling programs in 1989 and has operated this
program in each subsequent year; and
WHEREAS, the Dakota County Board of Commissioners has required
each community program to add magazines as additional required
recycling material to be collected beginning on January 1, 1993.
NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Mendota Heights, that the following be adopted as the
Targeted Recyclables to be collected, at a minimum, by licensed
haulers in the City of Mendota Heights, henceforth, beginning in
January 1, 1993:
Aluminum and steel beverage cans, bi-metal cans ("tin cans"),
glass bottles and jars, newspapers, plastic bottles with a
neck, corrugated cardboard and magazines.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Mendota Heights that Mendota Heights Resolution No. 91-07 be
rescinded in its entirety.
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Mendota Heights this
fifteenth day of December, 1992.
