RESOLUTION AMENDING T� CI'I'i� OF MENDOTA HEIGHTS COMPREHENSIVE PLAN TO INCOIZPORATE LANGUAGE ADDRESSING NON POINT POLLUTION REDUCTION AND CONTROL WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council and 1VSetro area cities are working to reduce non- point pollution; and . WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council has determined that all cities should amend their comprehensive plans to include language addressing the need for non point pollution control; and WHEREAS, the Mendota Heights Planning Commission held a public hearing on February 23, 1993, to consider a minor comprehensive plan amendment that would meet the objectives of the Metropolitan Council; and � WHEREAS, after closing the hearing the Planning Commission recommended that the Council adopt the language as presented `u� the proposed amendment. NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mendota Heights that the City amends Section �TI-A-1 of Part II of the Comprehensive Plan to add the following language: The City of Mendota Heights will apply Naiional Urban Runoff Program (NURP) Standards for the design of new storm water ponds and the MPCA's urban best management practices titled "Water Quality in Urban Areas" or equivalent to the review of any proposed development occurring in the City to reduce non point source pollutant loadings in storm water runoff. The City of Mendota. Heights will incorporate these standazds and requirements in its storm water management plan and 1and use controls to implement this policy. The City of Mendota Heights will work with the Department of Natural Resources to adopt the revised shoreland regulations consistent with the DNR's schedule of priorities.
