�PHEsREAS, storm drainage from and along the west side of
Lexington Avenue has caused a 12" corrugated metal pipe to become
overloaded during rainstorms of'average intensity and duration; and
WHEREAS, this culvert leads and is connected to a private
drainage system owned by the Colony Apartments in Lilydale; and
D�HEREAS, the Cities of Mendota Heights and Lilydale have
already completed a project that diverts a good share of the storm
water that once flowed down Lexington Avenue, by creating what is
known as the Mayfield Heights Diversion; and
�HEREAS, the Colony Apartment Association has offered to
provide the right-of-way for a relocated culvert and extension to
the Minnesota River Bluffs on the west side of the Colony Apartment
property for a nominal sum; and

WHEREAS, the Lower Minnesota River �nTatershed District, the
City of Mendota Heights, the City of Lilydale and the County of
Dakota may wish to cooperate financially with the Minnesota
Department of Highways in this project.
NOW THE;REFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Mendota Heights
hereby formally requests MnDOT Special Agreements Funds for the
redesign of the drainage system with an appropriately sized pipe
west of Lexington Avenue on Trunk Highway 13 for the fiscal year
1995. •
