Res 1995 - 39 Approving a Conditional Use Permit for Fill & a Conditional Use Permit for Accessory Structure to Allow a Salt Storae Shed at 2229 Pilot Knob RoadCITY OF MENDOTA HEIGHTS DAKOTA COUNTY, MINNESOTA RESOI,UTION NO. 95- 39 A RESOLUTION APPROVING A CONDITIONAL U5E PERNIIT FOR FILL AND A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT FOR ACCESSORY STRUCTURE TO ALLOW A SALT STOItAGE SHED AT 2229 PILOT KNOB ROAD WHEREAS, the Minnesota Department of Transportation, owners of a maintenance facility located at 2229 Pilot Knob Road, have made application for a Conditional Use Permit for Fill and for a Conditional Use Permit for Accessory Structure, to allow construction of a Sa1t Storage Shed on the above described property; and WHEREAS, the Mendota Heights Planning Commission conducted public hearings on May 23, June 27, and July 25, 1995 to consider said application; and W�iEREAS, based upon the public record transcribed at said public hearings, the Mendota Heights Planning Commission voted unanimously (6-0) to recommend to the Mendota Heights City Council that the above described Conditional Use Permit for Fill and a Conditional Use Permit for Accessory Structure be approved, as shown on revised plans in Case File No. 95-06, with the following conditions: 1. That the seed mixture used to establish ground cover on the 2:1 slope azeas be as approved by the City Planning Consultant. 2. That the light standard height be reduced to the greatest extent possible as allowed by the light patterns of the light fixture subject to approval by the City Planning Consultant. WHEREAS, the City Council considered said applications for Conditional Use Pernuts at their meeting on August 1, 1995. NOW THEREFORE IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mendota Heights that the proposed Conditional Use Permit for Fill and the proposed Conditional Use Permit for Accessory Structure will have no adverse effect on the health, safety and general welfare of the citizens of the community and the sunounding land and that said proposed salt storage shed is not adverse to the general purpose and intent of the Zoni.ng Ordinance. BE IT FiTRTHER RESOLVED that the Conditional Use Permit for Fill and the Conditional Use Permit for Accessory Structure be approved to allow the Minnesota Department of Transportation to construct a Salt Storage Shed, as proposed on the revised plans on file in Case File No. 95-06, with the following conditions: 1. That the seed mixture used to establish ground cover on the 2:1 slope areas be MnDOT No. 2200 spec with the forbs in the mix to include rudbeckia hirta, Echinacea angustifolium, and Achillea millifolium, as per City Planning Consultant's memo dated July 28, 1995. 2. That the pole mounted lights be used only when the Salt Storage Shed is in use. 3. That the paint color for the Salt Storage shed be approved by City Staff. 4. That the landscaping plan be revised to include species other than poplar and that poplars are not to be used as a specified tree on the landscaping plan.
