A RESOLUTION ADOPTING A MORATORIUM ON SINGLE FAMILY BUILDING
PERMITS WITH ATTACHED GARAGES LARGER THAN 1,000 SQUARE FEET
WHEREAS, in the interest of public health, safety and welfare, the City of Mendota
Heights desires to consider a Zoning Ordinance Amendment to limit the size of attached
garages to single family homes by acting quickly to establish guidelines.
NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Mendota Heights that a moratorium is hereby declared within the City of Mendota Heights
to prohibit the construction of attached single family garages larger than 1,000 square feet.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this moratorium is imposed pending the
development and adoption of a Zoning Ordinance Amendment addressing attached garage sizes
within the City. This moratorium is effective on the date this Resolution is adopted and shall
continue in force and effect for a 90 day period.
