RESOLUTION NO. 98- 25
A RESOLUTION APPROVING A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT
FOR US WEST WIRELESS TO PLACE PCS ANTENNAE
ON THE SIDE OF HENRY SIBLEY HIGH SCHOOL
WHEREAS, Julie Townshend of US West Wireless has applied for a Conditional
Use Permit to place PCS antennae on the side of Henry Sibley High School, as proposed
on plans on file in Planning Case No. 97-09; and
WHEREAS, The Planning Commission of the City of Mendota Heights held a
public hearing on this application at their March 24, 1998 meeting; and
WHEREAS, The Planning Commission voted 5-0 on March 24, 1998 (with two
Commissioners absent) to recommend that the City Council approve this application under
certain conditions,
NOW, '1'HtREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Mendota Heights that a Conditional Use Permit for US West Wireless to place
PCS antennae on the side of Henry Sibley High School as proposed on plans on file in
Planning Case File No. 98-09 is hereby granted subject to the following conditions:
1. That there be no more than nine antennae as proposed on plans on file in Planning
Case File #98-09.
2. That the antennae be flush -mounted to the side of the Henry Sibley High School
Building, with no portion of the antennae protruding above the roof of the building.
3. That the antennae be painted to match the side exterior of the Henry Sibley High
School building.
4. That the applicant submit a coverage interference analysis and capacity analysis per
Ordinance No. 317, Section 21.6(8)d.
5. That the applicant submit a report from a qualified professional engineer guaranteeing
noninterference and a copy of the FCC approval of the antennae in regards to non-
interference as per Ordinance No. 317, Section 21.6(8)e.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mendota
Heights that this approved Conditional Use Permit to place PCS antennae on the side of
Henry Sibley High School, as proposed on plans on file in Planning Case No. 98-09 under
the above conditions would not have an adverse impact on the health, safety and general
welfare of the citizens of the community and the surrounding land, and would not be
adverse to the general purpose and intent of the Zoning Ordinance.
