Res 1998 - 63 Establishing a Moratorium on Motels & Hotels as Conditional Uses within the B-1 Zoning DistrictCITY OF MENDOTA HEIGHTS DAKOTA COUNTY, MINNESOTA RESOLUTION NO. 98- 63 A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A MORATORIUM ON MOTELS AND HOTELS AS CONDITIONAL USES WITHIN THE B-1 ZONING DISTRICT WHEREAS, the City of Mendota Heights is currently undertaking a planning study and has conducted a public hearing to consider removing Motels and Hotels as Conditional Uses from the B-1 Zoning District, and; • WHEREAS, in the interest of protecting the planning process and the health and safety and welfare of its citizens, the City of Mendota Heights desires to consider the enactment of a Moratorium prohibiting consideration or approval of applications for Motels and Hotels within the B-1 Zoning District, and; WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes Section 462.355 Subd. 4 authorizes interim ordinances to regulate uses or development within Cities while that City is conducting a study to consider adoption of an amendment to the Zoning Ordinance. NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED pursuant to Minnesota Statute 462.355 Subd. 4 by the City Council of the City of Mendota Heights that on this 1" day of September, 1998, a Moratorium shall be established which shall prohibit consideration and/or approval of any applications or requests to construct Motels or Hotels within the B-1 Zoning District is hereby declared effective from and hereafter the date here of through March 1, 1999, or until such time as the Council has adopted an Ordinance Amendment or has passed a formal motion ending this Moratorium. NOW THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Ordinance No.321 is hereby adopted. Adopted by the City Council of the City of Mendota Heights this 15` day of September, 1998.
