Res 1997 - 25 Approving a Variance Request to Turners Gymnastics Center for a Temporary SignCITY OF MENDOTA HEIGHTS DAKOTA COUNTY, MINNESOTA RESOLUTION NO. 97-25 A RESOLUTION APPROVING A VARIANCE REQUEST TO TURNERS GYMNASTICS CENTER FOR A TEMPORARY SIGN WHEREAS, Mr. Jim Hammer, President of Turners Gymnastics Center has requested a Variance allowing a 100 ft2 temporary sign facing Highway 35E, as proposed on plans on file in Planning Case No. 97-11; and WHEREAS, The Planning Commission of the City of Mendota Heights met to discuss this application at their May 27, 1997 meeting; and WHEREAS, The Planning Commission voted 4-2 on May 27, 1997 to recommend that the City Council deny this application, NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mendota Heights that a Variance allowing a 100 ft2 temporary sign facing Highway 35E, all as proposed on plans on file in Planning Case No. 97-11 is hereby granted subject to the following conditions: 1. That Turner's Gymnastics contact the City's Code Enforcement Office and apply for and receive a Sign Permit. 2. That this Variance is for a one-time use only between August l, 1997, and August 31, 1997, and this sign must be displayed no earlier than midnight on August 1, 1997 and removed no later than 11:59 p.m. on August 31, 1997. 3. That Turner's Gymnastics submit a written letter to the City of Mendota Heights by December 31, 1997 reporting on the effectiveness of this banner sign. BE IT FLTRTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mendota Heights that the proposed Variance allowing a 100 ft2 temporary sign facing Highway 35E, all as proposed on plans on file in Planning Case No. 97-11 under the above conditions would have no adverse impact on the health, safety or general welfare of the citizens of the community and the surrounding land, and would not be adverse to the general purpose and intent of the Zoning Ordinance.
