RESOLUTION 99-61
A RESOLUTION APPROVING A SIZE VARIANCE
TO REPLACE THE EXISTING FREE-STANDING SIGN
FOR COURTYARD BY MARRIOTT,1352 NORTHLAND DRIVE
WHEREAS, Mr. Scott Griffin has applied for a size variance to replace the existing
free-standing sign for Courtyard by Marriott, 1352 Northland Drive as proposed on plans on file
in Planning Case File No. 99-32; and
WHEREAS, The Planning Commission held a public hearing on this application at their
regular meeting on August 24, 1999, and
WHEREAS, There was no-one present to speak at the public hearing, and
WHEREAS, The Planning Commission recommended 6-0 with on Commissioner
excused that the Council approve this application as presented with certain conditions,
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Mendota Heights that a 157 foot sign size variance to replace the existing free-standing sign
for Courtyard by Marriott, 1352 Northland Drive as proposed on plans on file in Planning Case
File No. 99-32 is hereby approved on the following conditions:
1. The overall height of the sign shall be no greater than 45' 3" as shown on plans
submitted.
2. The square footage of the sign face shall be no greater than 10' 3" x 25' 1" as shown on
plans submitted.
3. The lighting intensity and color background of the sign shall be no greater than the sign
it replaces.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mendota Heights
�' that this size variance to replace the existing free-standing sign for Courtyard by Marriott, 1352
Northland Drive as proposed on plans on file in Planning Case File No. 99-32 would not have an
adverse impact on the health, safety and general welfare of the citizens of the community and the
surrounding land, and would not be adverse to the general purpose and intent of the Zoning
Ordinance.
