RESOLUTION ORDERING ENGINEER' S FEASIBILITY REPORT
AND PUBLIC HEARING FOR TIiE
MARIE AVENUE NIILL AND OVERLAY PAVING PROJECT
TO SERVE BURII, AND HOLMES, CARROLL F. SMALL FIRST ADDITION,
EAGLE RIDGE EAST PLAT 2, VALLEY CURVE ESTATES,
SOMERSET PARK, SPRING CREEK ACRES
AND SURROUNDING AREAS
(IlVIPROVEMENT NO. 2001, PROJECT NO. 1)
WHEREAS, City Council has determined that it is appropriate and fitting to consider a
paving project to mill and overlay Marie Avenue from Lexi.ngton Avenue to Dodd Road and to
assess the benefiting properties for all or a portion of the cost of the improvements pursuant to
Minnesota Statutes Chapter 429:
WHEREAS, The City Engineer be and he is hereby authorized and directed to prepare
a feasibility study as to whether said proposed improvements are feasible, whether said
improvements should best be made as proposed, or rather should be made in conjunction with
some other improvement, and as to the estimated cost of said improvements, for:
Street paving on Marie Avenue between Lexington Avenue and Dodd Road to cover
the resurfacing of streets consisting of, but not li.mited to, mill and overlay bituminous
paving situated in the areas hereinafter more particularly described, and
WHEREAS, the proposed area to be assessed for said improvements is situated within
the City of Mendota Heights in Dakota County, Minnesota, and is more particularly described
as follows:
Those parcels to be assessed for street resurfacing improvements are parcels that
currently have driveway access to Marie Avenue between Lexington Avenue and Dodd
Road from the following plats; Buril and Holmes, Canoll F. Small First Addition,
Ea.gle Ridge East Plat 2, Valley Curve Estates, Somerset Park, Spring Creek Acres,
and Property ID Nos. 27-02300-020-53, 27-02300-031-53, and 27-02300-030-54, and
NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Mendota. Heights, Minnesota. as follows:
1. That the City Engineer be and he is hereby authorized and directed to prepare a
feasibility study as to whether said proposed improvements are feasible, whether
said improvements should best be made as proposed, or rather should be made in
conjunction with some other improvement, and as to the estimated cost of said
improvements.
2. That said improvement sha11 hereafter be known and designated as Improvement
No. 2001, Project No. 1.
3. That a public hearing on said improvements shall be held on Z�esday, Apri117,
2001 at 8:00 o'clock P.M. or as soon as possible thereafter, at the Mendota. Heights
City Hall, 1101 Victoria Curve in the City of Mendota. Heights.
4. That the City Clerk, with the aid and assistance of the City Attorney, be and is
hereby authorized and directed to prepare a notice of said hearing and to cause said
notice to be published and mailed to the owners of the property situated within said
area, all in accordance with applicable Minnesota Statutes.
