Res 2000 - 38 Accepting Bids & Awarding Contract for Proposed Street Reconstruction & Rehabilitation Improvements to Serve Delaware Crossing, Ivy Falls, Rogers Lake & Surrounding Areas Jobs Nos. 200001/200002, Improvement No. 2000, Project No. 1)City of Mendota Heights Dakota County, Minnesota RESOLUTION NO. 00 -38 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR PROPOSED STREET RECONSTRUCTION AND REHABILITATION IMPROVEMENTS TO SERVE DELAWARE CROSSING, IVY FALLS, ROGERS LAKE AND SURROUNDING AREAS (JOB NOS. 200001 & 200002, IMPROVEMENT NO. 2000, PROJECT NO. 1) WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for proposed storm sewer, concrete curb and gutter, street reconstruction improvements and appurtenant work to serve the neighborhood referred to as Rogers Lake and surrounding areas; and the rehabilitation of streets and appurtenant work to serve the neighborhoods referred to as Delaware Crossing, Ivy Falls, Rogers Lake and surrounding areas (Job Nos. 200001 & 200002, Improvement No. 2000, Project No. 1), bids were received, opened, and tabulated according to law and the following bids were received complying with said advertisement: NAME OF BIDDER AMOUNT OF BID Valley Paving, Inc., Shakopee, MN $913,360.05 Hardrives, Inc., Rogers, MN $949,365.50 Midwest Asphalt Corporation $1,055,978.35 Eden Prairie, MN Bituminous Roadways, Inc. $1,161,902.75 Inver Grove Heights, MN and WHEREAS, the City Engineer recommended that the low bid submitted by Valley Paving, Inc. of Shakopee, Minnesota, be accepted. NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mendota Heights, Minnesota, as follows: 1. That the bids for the above project are hereby received and accepted. 2. That the bid of Valley Paving, Inc. of Shakopee, Minnesota, submitted for the construction of the above described improvements be and the same is hereby accepted. 3. That the contract be awarded to Valley Paving, Inc. of Shakopee, Minnesota, and that the Mayor and Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute and deliver any and all contractors and documents necessary to consummate the awarding of said bids. Swanson, City Clerk CITY COUNCIL CITY OF MENDOTA HEIGHTS uber, Acting Mayor EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF A MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MENDOTA HEIGHTS, MINNESOTA HELD: May 2, 2000 Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Mendota Heights, Dakota County, Minnesota, was duly held at the City Hall in said City on Tuesday, the 2nd day of May, 2000, at 7:30 P.M., for the purpose, in part, of considering bids for, and awarding the sale of, $2,480,000 General Obligation Improvement Bonds of 2000 of the City. The following members were present: Acting Mayor John Huber, Schneeman, Dwyer and the following were absent: Mertensotto, Krebsbach The Clerk presented affidavits showing publication of notice of call for bids on $2,480,000 General Obligation Improvement Bonds of 2000 of the City, for which bids were to be received at this meeting, in accordance with the resolution adopted by the City Council on March 21, 2000. The affidavits were examined, were found to comply with the provisions of Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 475, and were approved and ordered placed on file. The Council proceeded to receive and open bids for the sale of the Bonds.
