A RESOLUTION APPROVING A VARIANCE FOR ADDITIONAL SIGNAGE
ON THE ATHLETIC FIELD SCOREBOARD FOR SAINT THOMAS ACADEMY
WHEREAS, Mr. Rich Allen representing Saint Thomas Academy at 955 Lake
Drive has applied for a variance for additional signage on the athletic field scoreboard for
Saint Thomas Academy as proposed on documents in Planning Case File #00-25; and
WHEREAS, The Planning Commission conducted a public hearing on this
application at their regular meetings on June 27, 2000 and July 25, 2000 and
WHEREAS, The Planning Commission voted 5-0 (with two Commissioners
excused from the meeting) to recommend that the Council approve this application with
one condition enumerated below,
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Mendota Heights that the application for a variance for additional signage on the
athletic field scoreboard for Saint Thomas Academy as proposed on documents in
Planning Case File #00-25 is hereby approved under the following condition:
1. that Saint Thomas Academy screen the back of the scoreboard with one additional
tree as presented to and approved by the Council on August 1, 2000.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mendota
Heights that this application for a variance for additional signage on the athletic field
scoreboard for Saint Thomas Academy as proposed on documents in Planning Case File
#00-25 under the above condition will not have an adverse impact on the health, safety
and general welfare of the citizens of the community and the surrounding land, and would
be adverse to the general purpose and intent of the Zoning Ordinance.
