Res 2000 - 63 Approving a 17' Front Yard Setback Variance for a Garage Addition & an 8' Front Yard Setback Variance for a Garage Addition at 26 Somerset RdCITY OF MENDOTA HEIGHTS DAKOTA COUNTY, MINNESOTA RESOLUTION 00- 63 A RESOLUTION APPROVING A 17' FRONT YARD SETBACK VARIANCE FOR A GARAGE ADDITION AND AN 8' FRONT YARD SETBACK VARIANCE FOR A GARAGE ADDITION AT 26 SOMERSET ROAD WHEREAS, Mr. James Fischer of 26 Somerset Road has applied for a 17' front yard setback variance for a garage addition and an 8' front yard setback variance for a home addition as proposed on documents in Planning Case File #00-29; and WHEREAS, The Planning Commission discussed this application at their regular meeting on July 25, 2000 and WHEREAS, The Planning Commission voted 5-0 and 4-1 (with two Commissioners excused from the meeting) to recommend that the Council approve these variances, NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mendota Heights that the application for a 17' front yard setback variance for a garage addition and an 8' front yard setback variance for a home addition as proposed on documents in Planning Case File #00-29 is hereby approved. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the garage size after the addition will be within the limits set by the Zoning Ordinance for single-family home garages. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mendota Heights that this application for a 17' front yard setback variance for a garage addition and an 8' front yard setback variance for a garage addition as proposed on documents in Planning Case File #00-29 will not have an adverse impact on the health, safety and general welfare of the citizens of the community and the surrounding land, and would be adverse to the general purpose and intent of the Zoning Ordinance.
