RESOLUTION NO. 01-58
A RESOLUTION PROCLAIMING OCTOBER 28, 2001
AS CHANGE YOUR CLOCK, CHANGE YOUR BATTERIES DAY
WHEREAS, each day an average of three children die in home fires without working
smoke detectors; and
WHEREAS, by providing an early warning and critical extra seconds to escape, smoke
detectors cut in half a family's risk of dying in a home fire; and
WHEREAS, the Mendota Heights Fire Department supports the International
Association of Fire Chiefs and Energizer brand batteries in their educational endeavors
to remind Mendota Heights citizens to change the batteries in their smoke detectors.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council would like to educate
the community and support fire prevention activities hereby proclaims Sunday, October
28, 2001 as "Change Your Clock, Change Your Batteries Day" in Mendota Heights.
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Mendota Heights this 2n' day of October,
2001.
