On October 5, 1972 my wife and I signed the closing papers as purchasers
of the 8.25 acres of property at 755 Wentworth Ave., West, Mendota Heights.
Several weeks before we had checked on any possible obligations with Mr. Gil
Radabaugh, who advised us that, because of the new sanitary secaer in the street,
it would be necessary to apply for official permission to continue the arrange-
ment of the former owners, Mr. & Mrs. Edward A. Schmidt.
The house on this property in which we wili be living is .bout 500 feet
from Wentworth Avenue, which would entail a very large expense if we were to
installa sewer line. The Schmidts assure us that the present septic system
is entirely adequate; and Since the property is so large, there should be no
possible adverse ecological consequences. -
We therefore xespectfully request permission to be allowed to retain the
existing septic system without connection to the public sanitary sewer.
a
Thanking you for your consideration in the matter, I am
Very truly yours,

FROm: Orvil J. Johnson
Uillage Administrator
SUBJECT: Completion of Probationary Period
miss Kathleen mahoney will have completed her six—
months' probationary'period on November 15. Although
.the position title is AdministratorPolice Chief
Secretary, she has accepted othe responsibilities
such as Village Council Secretary, office secretary for
the Park and Recreation,Commission, as well as many
other miscellaneous tasks.
She has performed exceedinglywell, willingly
accepting additional ,asks and duties, as well as being
extremely unselfish with her time. As an example, she
spent additional nights preparing for the office move,
all day Saturday after the move cleaning, arranging
. and getting the office ready for normal use, and then
assisted at night during Open House week.
 I therefore recommend without reservation that her
 appointment be made permanent; the remaining 1972 salazy
to be $525 per month.

RESOLUTION N0.
RESOLUTION RESPONDENT TO THE mETROPOLITAN
COUNCIL TRANSPORTATION POLICY PLAIV AIUD
PROGRAm GUIDELINES

WHEREAS, the metropolitan Council has developed
Transportation Policy Plan and Program Guidelines; and
WHEREAS, such policy plan indicates principal
arterials through mendota Heights from east to west;

indicates a rerouting of TH 55 traffic onto TH 110;
and ;
WHEREAS, the most recent plans of the minnesota

the I-494 corridor; and .
WHEREAS, it appears inappropriate to carry such TH 55
traffic on an east—west routing through the central part
of inendota Heights; and
WHEREAS, such TH 55 traffic would be better serviced
on the proposed I-494 alignment,
NOW THERE IT IS HEREBY RESOL'UED by the Village
