Village Update
.
I spoke with Ross Fefercorn this week about the status of his new “ABC
Building” that is currently receiving its final touchups for completion.
Ross tells me that, besides Snyders Drug Store, he has also signed retail
leases with 3 Kittens Needle Art and Embellier Gallery of Gems
(jewelry/gift store/estate and appraisals). He also has a maternity store
lease pending. The Verizon Store is now open and Tommy Chicago’s
Pizzeria will open very soon. Signed office leases in the ABC are:
Clerestory Financial and Dr. Eng (orthodontist). He is close to signing
office leases with an Oral Surgery office, a Therapist office, a Trust
Company and a Travel Agency. In spite of the very slow housing market,
we are happy to be able to report that Ross is having good success in
leasing up his new office and retail spaces at the ABC. F

Minnesota National Nite Out
Sergeant Garlock gave me the 411 on National Night Out, coming up this Tuesday,
August 5. The PD is hosting the city’s official National Night Out event, from 6-9PM
at Mendakota Park. There will be free Hot dogs and root beer floats just in case the
chance to hang out with neighbors and public safety staff isn’t enough incentive for
residents. The PD will have representatives from each specialty – bike patrol, Special
Operations Team, Drug Task Force, etc. Fire Department will also have a truck at the
event. In addition to the official party, at least six neighborhoods are having their own
parties – PD and FD will try to get representatives to each of these parties. This is a
great chance for folks to connect to their neighbors, and the community!
Get together at Par 3
Unfortunately, Tiger’s bum knee will keep him from being in attendance at our first
gathering of Council members and Commissioners at the Par 3 this Saturday. It does
look like we will have just over 20 Council members, Commissioners and family
members this upcoming Saturday morning. Starting at 9AM, we’ll be sending out
groups to play the Par 3 (regular fees apply - $11), and attendees will enjoy a free hot
dog, chips etc. on the patio after their round. Hopefully it won’t get too hot…
Residents Treat Pond
The residents living around Copperfield Pond hired “Lake Restoration Inc.” to
chemically treat Copperfield Pond for lake weeds and algae this week. The proper
permits were obtained from the DNR to do the work. Guy requested information
from Lake Restoration on their services and costs in order to be able to pass this
along to other residents that live on ponds, because the City occasionally does re-
ceive inquires on how to deal with weeds and algae.
