DCC SWITCH-OVER
The Dakota Communications Center started live dispatch service at 5AM on December 27, 2007.
The transition seems to be going very smoothly. On our end, the new radios appear to be
working well, with the exception of public works, who are working through a couple bugs.
The first call taken by DCC came in at 5:22, a medical call to the City of Hastings. A number of
vendors were on hand to make sure their technologies all performed as promised. This is a
significant step for our County; the result of much hard work from each community to
consolidate police, fire and medical dispatching into one center.
WINTER ACTIVITY AT PAR 3
It looks like citizens are taking advantage of the slopes and open areas at the Par 3. The hill from
the #3 green down to the #4 tee appears to see a lot of sledding action, and the entire course is
crisscrossed with cross-country ski and snowshoe tracks. It’s nice to see the course serving as an
amenity to the public in the off-season.
CITY HALL HOURS NEXT WEEK
City Hall will be open regular hours on New Years Eve, and closed for New Years Day. Here’s
wishing you all a safe and enjoyable New Year celebration!
