FISHING DERBY RECEIVES AWARD
Carmen Hauck from Town Square TV recently returned from the NATOA Conference and
Awards in Florida, and the Mendota Heights Fishing Derby received 3rd place in the
Documentary-Event Coverage category. Carmen said “CONGRATULATIONS to Teresa
Ganglehoff and everyone who helped to make the show a success!! The city of Mendota Heights
really has something to be proud of with the fishing derby. Please let Michelle, Anna, Ben, all of
the volunteers, and the rest of your cit y staff know about the award… it truly is an honor”!!
PUBLIC WORKS BBQ
This Thursday noon the Public Works Department held their annual picnic out at the shop. They
had two-out of state turkeys that they deep fried for everyone. Mike Maczko had bagged two
wild turkeys in Iowa and Kentucky and donated them to the cause. They also grilled brats and
hamburgers in case someone didn’t want wild turkey (not the kind you drink). It was a perfect
day for a picnic and everyone had a great time. Thanks to Public Works!!
LABOR DAY
This weekend is Labor Day and on next Monday City offices will be closed. It’s the end of
summer and the final days of the State Fair are on this weekend. Hope everyone has a chance to
go to the fair and have a great long weekend.
Respectfully submitted,
Jim Danielson
City Administrator
