FOUTH OF JULY
The Police report that Mendota Heights had a safe 4TH of July. There were very few fireworks
complaints and no serious injuries reported. There also were no problems associated with traffic
control on TH13 for the “Taste of Minnesota”.
DAKOTA COUNTY TRAFFC SAFETY
This Monday the Dakota County Traffic Safety unit was in town with 13 officers from 10
different Dakota County agencies who all worked together in a saturation effort to apprehend
drunk drivers. The unit focused their efforts on TH13, TH110 and I-35E. This resulted in 49
warnings, 11 citations, 3 DWI’s, a couple of no-insurance, a couple of stop sign violations and a
couple of seat belt tickets.
XCEL GAS MAINS
The subcontractors working for Xcel Energy are in town doing directional borings for new gas
mains under TH55 south of Mendota Heights Road and under Mendota Heights Road west of
Lexington Avenue. These new gas mains are to replace some old ones that Xcel was worried
would not carry the extra pressure when they increase it for the conversion of their High Bridge
Generation Plant from coal to gas.
NEW BABIES
Tanner Spicer and is wife Silke are the proud parents of baby boy, Magnus.
Magnus weighed in at 9.3 lbs and 21 ½ inches. Magnus arrived at approximately 1223 hours
(12:23 a.m.). Mommy, Daddy & Baby are doing fine. Congratulations Tanner & Silke!!
Councilmember Duggan’s daughter Heather Peterson had a new baby girl this week that weighed
in at 8 lbs 7oz and was 22 inches long. (Still no name) Congrats to Ultan.
