JUDY IS LEAVING
Judy Wonick, who has been with the City since 1999, had found a new home in Lanesboro,
Minnesota (map attached). Judy and Roger have purchased a restaurant in Lanesboro where they
will be doing a major life change – owning and operating a restaurant. Lanesboro is a quaint
little town in southern Minnesota, a short 1-½ hour drive from the Twin Cities. We will all have
to make plans to visit Judy this summer and try out her restaurant. We all wish Judy and Roger
the best of luck on their new venture – we will miss you Judy!
SAGE MARKET
Bob Kowalski visited City Hall this week to report that he now has a signed agreement with
Ross Feffercorn to rent the northwest half of Building D and open his new market/deli – Sage
Market. Bob hopes to be open for business this summer – perhaps as soon as July. Bob has
indicated that he is planning to apply for an on-sale wine license to be able to serve wine by the
glass in the deli area.
PHOENIX TENNIS UPDATE
This week members of Phoenix Tennis (Lilydale Tennis Club members) arranged a meeting with
them, the City and Lifetime Fitness. Lifetime is the “premier” health club provider in the nation.
Lifetime reported that tennis clubs are very hard to make profitable, but that they are trying to
change that. Lifetime also reported that they have done a number of partnerships with cities in
the metro area to provide health clubs/community centers – they are currently finishing a deal
with t he City of Lakeville. At the meeting, they said that their first look at the City’s
Resurrection site is favorable. Phoenix is on this Tuesday’s City Council agenda to ask if the
City would be willing to sell the Resurrection site for use as a Tennis/Athletic Club.
SPRING AHEAD
This weekend is day light savings time – don’t forget to spring ahead and set your clocks one
hour ahead Saturday night !
Respectfully submitted,
