THE SUMMIT
The Summit of Mendota Heights is currently being constructed by OPUS on the old Ecolab site.
They had a Holiday/Ground Breaking Celebration this Thursday evening at Osteria I Nonni. At
the celebration they reported that they are doing very well with their sales, with half of their town
homes in their first phase already sold. They have also sold seven of their condominium units
and have several others in the process of being sold. The Condo building is a four-story, 48 -unit
building. They told us Thursday that they will begin construction of this building once 50% of
the units are sold (24 units).
FA LA LATTE
I attended the monthly Chamber of Commerce’s “Buzz” meeting this Thursday morning and
several Mendota Heights residents were there. They were all complaining about the new
Caribou Coffee shop at the Village. That it was too successful! They all said that whenever they
have tried to stop and get a cup of coffee it was very tough to find a parking spot, and then when
they did, the place was packed with people and there was no place to sit. What a problem to
have, eh? Linda stopped in today at Caribou on her way to work and bought a holiday beverage,
a “ Fa La Latte” (combination of egg nog and espresso). She said that it was great and that she
highly recommends that you try one too.
The grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony for Cold Stone Creamery is scheduled for
tonight, but they have been open for a while already and by all reports are also doing very well.
Respectfully submitted,
Jim Danielson
