50 YEAR CELEBRATION
This week Council Members Duggan and Schneeman and Parks Commissioner Dave Libra were
all here at City Hall helping Judy stuff envelopes. Council Member Duggan prepared and sent
out about 400 letters to businesses requesting their participation in the City’s 50 Year
Celebration next year.
CARIBOU OPENS
Caribou Coffee opened its doors this past Sunday and I believe that all the Council Members
were there to see how everything was going. From all that I hear, Caribou is doing great their
first week.
SANTA CLAUS IS COMING TO TOWN
Mr. Don Bohmer who lives at the intersection of Lower Colonial Drive and Wachtler Avenue,
called City Hall this week to tell us that he is going to be playing Santa Claus at his curb this
year. The PD will be keeping an eye on Santa to see that there aren’t any traffic problems. This
is the first year that Don will be doing Santa at his curb, however he said that he has had plenty
of practice, because he took those duties over from his Dad 30 years ago. He will begin
decorating his yard this weekend and plans on being Santa beginning the weekend of the 9th. He
will be accepting food and toy donations from passersby, to be given to his church for
distribution.
SHORT WEEK
The City Council has authorized that one of the employee’s floating holidays be designated for
the Friday after Thanksgiving, so this is a short week for City Staff. City offices will not be open
this Friday. We all wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving.
Respectfully submitted,
Jim Danielson
