PARADE OF HOMES
The Parade of Homes starts this weekend on Sunday and runs through March 20th. Chief
Aschenbrener has been working with the City of Mendota about a development in their city that has
an entry in t he Dream Homes, a two million dollar home on Windy Ridge. This home is the first
one listed in the Parade, a $5 entry fee is charged. Mendota is expecting about 1000 people per
weekend to view it. The Mendota City Council is worried about the possibilit y of traffic problems,
so the Chief is working with them to address their concerns. Windy Ridge is a narrow street that,
except for a couple handicapped spots will be posted for “No Parking”. Cars will be expected to be
parked in the parking lot for Apostolic Church on Saturdays and the parking lot for the historic
marker on TH 13 on Sundays. Visitors can also park on TH 13. Visitors will either walk or be
shuttled to the dream home .
Ross Feffercorn is also entering one of his town homes in the Parade. He had one of his town
homes in the Fall Parade and we are not aware that there were any parking problems at that time.
SPRING CLEAN UP
Believe it or not, spring is just around the corner. Patrick Hollister is already making arrangements
for “Spring Clean Up 2005”. He has established Saturday, May 7th as the date and Ed Paster has,
once again, graciously allowed us to use his rear parking lot at Mendota Plaza as the location.
Patrick is looking for volunteers to help. Workers are needed from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Any increment
of time volunteered would be welcomed. Call Patrick at City Hall if you are interested in helping.
Appliance pickup will be the following Monday, May 9th. Residents need to contact JR’s
Appliance directly to schedule that pickup.
PROPERTY MAINTENANCE
Patrick Hollister was interviewed this week by Blair Reynolds, reporter from the Sun Current on the
proposed Property Maintenance Ordinance. An article will be appearing in next week’s paper. The
public hearing to consider the Property Maintenance Ordinance has been scheduled for Tuesday,
February 22nd at 7:30 p.m. at the Planning Commission meeting. A copy of full text of the proposed
ordinance can be seen on the City’s website www.mendota-heights.com under “Whats New”.
BUILDING F
Ross Feffercorn officially “broke ground” on Building F this week. Building F is his second
commercial building at Town Center. He had been thawing the ground for the past couple weeks to
soften the ground for the actual moving of dirt. Ross plans on having a formal ground breaking
ceremony sometime in March.
TOWN HALL FORUM
Remember that this Thursday evening, beginning at 7:00 p.m., here at City Hall is the NOC Town
Hall Forum addressing the Airport Part 150 Noise Insulation Program and the proposed airport
2020 expansion plan. Everyone is urged to come.
Respectfully submitted,
Jim Danielson
City Administrator
