UN-ALLOTMENT AND THE CITY BUDGET
The League of Minnesota Cities provided a web-based seminar on the most
recent information on cuts to Local Government Aid and Market Value
Homestead Credit. The session also included information on special levies
and levy limits. Jake and Kristen participated in the seminar, and found the
information useful, but not necessarily unexpected. The City is currently
estimated to experience a levy limit of 0.83%, which will require some
close scrutiny of budgets across the organization. Staff is already
underway with budget preparations and will keep on top of the latest
developments from the state for further impacts upon our process.

FISHING DERBY
This Wednesday evening was the Annual Fishing Derby held at Rogers Lake.
This year there were 60 participants. This is an extremely popular event and there would be a
lot more participants if we could handle them but 60 is all we can do at one time. This year
was a red letter year for the largest fish. August Anderson was the lucky kid who caught a 2-
1/2 lb 17” long large mouth bass. It was a beautiful fish. See the picture that shows the kid, the
fish and the judge. The most fish ever caught by Anna Elliott—69 (Wow, she must have a sore
arm from pulling all this in). There was a tie for the smallest fish at 3/8 of an ounce caught by
Ryan Creamer and Charley Leach. In total 397 fish were caught (and released) at the contest.
