”Snow” Breaking at Town Center
At noon on Monday, despite the weather, many hearty sould showed up for the Gounc (Snow) Breaking
Ceremony for “The Village at Mendota Heights”. It was snowing hard and kinda cold, (a typical Minnesota
day) when Paul Dorn, the real estate marketer for the project welcomed all of the guests. Among which
included; Rick Aguilar our new Metropolitan Council member, Patrice Bataglia, our Dakota County
Commissioner, Kari Gill, Deputy Director for the Dakota County CDA, Carolyn Krall, Designer for the
project and many others who were there to help the Mayor and City Council break ground for the first phase
of Townhouses for the project. Ross furnished hard hats, Caribou Coffee and cookies. He also had a roaring
fire going where people were roasting marshmallows and keeping warm (and getting smell) – Linda said she
could smell smoke every time I got close to her the rest of the day. It was a great event that we all have been
eagerly awaiting and the fact that it was a snowy, cold day that we had to endure, will make it all that more
memorable.
