Minutes of the Special Meeting
Held Tuesday, February 9, 2016
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a special meeting of the City Council, City of Mendota Heights,
Minnesota was held at 1:00 p.m. at City Hall, 1101 Victoria Curve, Mendota Heights, Minnesota.
CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Krebsbach called the meeting to order at 1:00 p.m. The following members were present:
Councilmembers Petschel, Povolny, and Norton. Absent: Councilmember Duggan.
RESOLUTION 2016-15 LOT SPLIT AND WETLANDS PERMIT - 755 WILLOW LANE
Planner Nolan Wall presented Resolution 2016-15, approving a lot split and a wetlands permit for
property located at 755 Willow Lane. The property is one acre in size and currently zoned R-1 One-
Family Residential and guided LR Low Density Residential. The current parcel contains an existing
single-family residential dwelling. The northwest portion of the parcel is traversed by Marie Creek.
The applicant is proposing to demolish the existing home and split the lot into two new lots for the
construction of two new single-family homes. The new lots would be compliant with the applicable lot
area and width standards per the City Code. The proposed construction activities are not anticipated to
negatively impact the creek.
Upon a question from Mayor Krebsbach, Planner Wall noted that no disturbance of the land can take
place within 25 feet of the creek or on slopes in excess of 25%. The applicants will be required to
submit grading and utility plans to be approved by city staf£ Public Works Director John Mazzitello
stated that the wetlands areas are inspected regularly as part of erosion control in the city.
Councilmember Norton moved to approve RESOLUTION 2016-15 APPROVING A LOT SPLIT AND
A WETLANDS PERMIT AT 755 WILLOW LANE.
Councilmember Povolny seconded the motion.
