2001-03-13 Parks and Rec Comm MinutesCITY OF MENDOTA HEIGHTS DAKOTA COUNTY, MINNESOTA PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION MINUTES MARCH 13, 2001 The regular meeting of the Mendota Heights Parks and Recreation Commission was held on Tuesday, March 13, 2001, in the Large Conference Room at City Hall, 1101 Victoria Curve. The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. The following Commissioners were present: Chair Richard Spicer and Commissioners Stan Linnell, Jay Liberacki, Raymond Morris, Dave Libra and Paul Portz. Commissioner Craighead was excused from the meeting. City Staff present was Administrative Assistant Patrick C. Hollister. Mr. Hollister took the minutes. MINUTES Commissioner Morris moved to approve the minutes from the February 13, 2001 meeting. Commissioner Libra seconded the motion. AYES: 6 NAYS: 0 ROBERT F. LARSON: PRESENTATION OF IDEAS FOR TOWN CENTER Mr. Hollister introduced Mr. Robert F. Larson of Minneapolis to the Parks and Recreation Commission. Mr. Larson explained that over the last year he had been regularly attending public meetings for the Town Center redevelopment project. Mr. Larson explained that although he is not a Mendota Heights resident himself, his parents live in Mendota Heights. Mr. Larson said that he had spoken with Commissioner Craighead about his ideas regarding the Town Center project, and that Commissioner Craighead had suggested that he present his ideas to the Parks and Recreation Commission. Mr. Larson then presented the materials that he had submitted to the Parks and Recreation Commission. Mr. Hollister reminded the Commission that the planning consultant for the Town Center development, Carolyn Krall, would attend the April meeting of the Parks and Recreation Commission to discuss Parks /Open Space, Recreational, and Civic amenities planned for the Town Center development. Mr. Hollister assured the Commission that there was still plenty of opportunity for their input on the recreational, open space, and civic amenities aspects of the plan. The Commission thanked Mr. Larson for his presentation and said that they would keep his ideas in mind when they met with Carolyn Krall at their April meeting.
