2000-06-13 Parks and Rec Comm MinutesCITY OF MENDOTA HEIGHTS DAKOTA COUNTY, MINNESOTA PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION MINUTES JUNE 13, 2000 The regular meeting of the Mendota Heights Parks and Recreation Commission was held on Tuesday, June 13, 2000, in the Large Conference Room at City Hall, 1101 Victoria Curve. The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. The following Commissioners were present: Chair Richard Spicer, Commissioners Jay Liberacki, Ann Connelly and Raymond Morris. Commissioner Lawrence Craighead arrived late. City Staff present were Parks Project Manager Guy Kullander, Recreation Programmer Mary Hapka and Administrative Assistant Patrick C. Hollister. Mr. Hollister took the minutes. MINUTES Commissioner Morris moved approval of the May 9, 2000 minutes. Commissioner Liberacki seconded the motion. AYES: 4 NAYS: 0 MARIE PARK PLAY EQUIPMENT - REMOVAL AND UPGRADE [Commissioner Craighead arrived at this point.] Mr. Kullander presented several proposals from various companies for the replacement of the play equipment at Marie Park. Mr. Kullander reviewed the proposed design, features, materials, costs, and maintenance cited by each company. The Commission discussed the various proposals and decided to recommend the product offered by Flanagan. Commissioner Liberacki moved to recommend that the Council authorize the expenditure of $15,000 for the Flanagan play equipment to replace the old Marie park play equipment, with an additional $2,000 from the Special Park Fund for site preparation and pea gravel for a total of $17,000. Commissioner Connelly seconded the motion.
