PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION MINUTES
MARCH 9, 1999
The regular meeting of the Mendota Heights Parks and Recreation Commission was held
on Tuesday, March 9, 1999, in the Large Conference Room at City Hall, 1101 Victoria
Curve. The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m.

Damberg, Libra. Also present were Parks Project Manager Guy Kullander, Recreation
Programmer Mary Hapka and Administrative Assistant Patrick C. Hollister.
UPDATES
Chair Spicer asked Staff to provide the updates at the beginning of the meeting.
Mr. Hollister informed the Commission that Commissioner Ann Norton had resigned
from the Commission due to the time constraints impsed by her new business venture.
Mr. Hollister continued that the standard proceedure for filling vacancies on any of the
Commissions was to solicit letters of interest from City residents and then invite these
individuals for an interview with the Council. Mr. Hallister said that the Council would
then select the successful candidate. Mr. Hollister said that he anticipated that this would
be the same procedure to be used in this case, althoughthe Council had not determined a
date to interview candidates yet.
Chair Spicer asked Staff to thank Ms. Norton for her years of dedicated service on the
Commission and to wish her good luck with her new endeavor. Chair Spicer suggested
that a letter be written to MHAA inviting members of that organization to apply to fill
this vacancy.
