2001-07-18 Airport Relations Commission MinutesCITY OF MENDOTA HEIGHTS DAKOTA COUNTY, MINNESOTA AIRPORT RELATIONS COMMISSION MINUTES JULY 18, 2001 The regular meeting of the Mendota Heights Airport Relations Commission was held on Wednesday, July 18, 2001, in the Large Conference Room at City Hall, 1101 Victoria Curve. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. The following Commissioners were present: Chair Scott Beaty and Commissioners Liz Petschel, Ellsworth Stein, Gregg Fitzer and Vern Edstrom. Commissioners Joe Leuman and John Roszak were excused from the meeting. Staff present was Administrative Assistant Patrick C. Hollister. Mr. Hollister took the minutes. MINUTES Commissioner Stein moved to approve the June 12, 2001 minutes. Commissioner Fitzer seconded the motion. AYES: 5 NAYS: 0 ROGERS LAKE ANOMS METER REQUEST Mr. Mike Kosel, 889 Bluebill Drive, informed the Commission that he was about to send a letter to Roy Fuhnnann of the Metropolitan Airports Commission requesting that an ANOMS meter be installed in the Rogers Lake Neighborhood. Mr. Kosel said that he would also be providing a copy of the letter to the Mendota Heights Airport Relations Commission and City Administrator Cari Lindberg. Mr. Kosel added that the MAC would be holding their next Part 150 Public Information Meeting at 7:00 pm on July 25, 2001 at the Thunderbird Hotel in Bloomington and that he hoped that some members of the Airports Relations Commission would attend. Chair Beaty asked for volunteers to attend the July 25 Part 150 meeting. Mr. Hollister and Commissioners Stein and Petschel offered to attend the meeting. Mr. Hollister added that he would inquire with City Administrator Lindberg to see if she was available, but that she was very busy and may not be able to attend. AIRPORT NOISE VIDEO Mr. Hollister reminded the Commission that at the June 13, 2001 meeting of the Airports Relations Commission, the Commissioners had appointed a subcommittee to review the draft script at a separate meeting. Mr. Hollister reported that the subcommittee met for lunch on a Monday and reviewed the proposed changes to the script by the MAC, some of which the subcommittee adopted and some of which they did not. Mr. Hollister added that the subcommittee also recommended some other revisions to the script, which were incorporated into the draft and submitted to the professional scriptwriter, Lisa Bartels- Rabb. Mr. Hollister provided the most recent draft by Ms. Bartels-Rabb. Mr. Hollister then introduced Mr. Dennis Raftery and Mr. Mark Oftedahl of NDCTV to discuss the making of the video. Mr. Raftery and Mr. Oftedahl discussed with the Commission the logistics of filming the script. Mr. Raftery told the Commission that he thought that the script as currently written would yield a 15-minute video, but that the video could be longer depending on the film footage, computer graphics or other effects that the Commission inserted into the video. The Commission asked Mr. Raftery and Mr. Hollister to meet with Chad Lecive of the MAC at his office to determine what resources the MAC would have to help the Commission make this video.
