ORD 356 Amend Ord 803 Sanitary SewerCITY OF MENDOTA HEIGHTS DAKOTA COUNTY, MINNESOTA ORDINANCE NO. 356 The City Council of the City of Mendota Heights hereby ordains as follows: SECTION 1. Ordinance No. 803, known and referred to as "AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE OPERATION OF THE MUNICIPAL SANITARY SEWER SYSTEM: REQUIRING CONNECTIONS TO BE MADE TO THE MUNICIPAL SANITARY SEWER SYSTEM; ESTABLISHING REGULATIONS AS TO TYPES AND KINDS OF WASTES THAT MAY BE DISPOSED OF BY THE USE OF THE MUNICIPAL SANITARY SEWER SYSTEM: PROHIBITING THE DISCHARGE OF ANY TYPE OR KIND OF SURFACE WATERS INTO THE MUNICIPAL SANITARY SEWER SYSTEM AND PRESCRIBING THE METHOD OF ESTABLISHING RATES AND CHARGES FOR DISPOSAL SERVICE," is hereby amended in the following respects: Section 8.2 is hereby amended in its entirety so that as amended it shall read as ) follows: Sewer rental charges shall be paid to the City of Mendota Heights for each of the quarterly periods ending December 31, March 31, June 30, and September 30 of each year. In the case of a connection to the municipal sewer system occurring during a quarter, the quarterly charge shall be prorated from the date of such connection. Payment of such rental charges for each quarter shall be made to the City Clerk by the 22nd day of the month immediately following the last month of the quarter. If such payment is not made when due, an additional late charge of Two Dollars ($2.00) shall be added to the quarterly payment then due. In the event that such quarterly sewer rental charges are not paid within thirty days after the mailing of a statement therefore, the City Clerk shall certify the same together with the late charge set forth above plus an additional certification fee of Fifty Dollars ($50.00) to the County Auditor of Dakota County, and the same shall be collected and the collection thereof enforced in the same manner, in all respects, as county and state real estate taxes, subject to like penalty, costs and interest charges. SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be in fall force and effect from and after its publication according to law. Enacted and ordained into an ordinance this Sixteenth day of January, 2001.
