Pollinator-Friendly City Resolution
Mr. Wallgren presented the items that would take place if the council decide to approve the
resolution to become a pollinator-friendly city.
-Have an educational article in the spring issue of the Heights Highlights.
-Work with Green River Greening to plant pollinator-friendly plantings.
-Establish a plant sharing program.
-Provide information on the city website.
Chair Hinderscheid suggested that we work with several of the Master Gardener in town.
Commissioner Levine also would like to include that we encourage people to avoid using
chemicals with neonicotinoids and avoid planting plants that have been treated with
neonicotinoid.
MHAA Soccer Plan
Mr. Wallgren presented the plan to move some of the younger MHAA Soccer players from
Kensington Park this fall to Mendakota Park. Mendakota Park has much more parking
available and the younger players required much smaller fields that can be placed in the
outfields of the softball fields.
2016 Meetings
Mr. Wallgren informed the commission that the August and November meetings in 2016 will
fall on election nights, and by law the commission cannot meet between 6:00pm and 8:00pm
those nights. The commission talked about touring some of the parks in August rather than a
meeting. The commission will wait to make a decision on the November meeting.
