A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR
REPLACEMENT OF FUEL PUMPS, MONITORING/TRACKING SOFTWARE,
AND ASSOCIATED COMPONENTS
WHEREAS, the pump system that holds, monitors, and dispenses gas for the city's
vehicle fleet has become antiquated and no longer functions as necessary; and,
WHEREAS, computer software used to operate and track the usage of the fuel pump
system is old and obsolete; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to a request for bids for the proposed replacement of fuel pumps,
monitoring and tracking software, and other associated components; bids were received,
reviewed, and the following bids were received complying with said request:

Zahl Petroleum Maintenance Company $34,934.00
Pump & Meter Service, Incorporated $40,975.90
Westside Equipment $45,133.00 and,
WHEREAS, the low bidder has offered additional services needed by the Public Works
Department for an additional bid of $6,284; and,
WHEREAS, the City Engineer recommended that the low bid submitted by Zahl
Petroleum Maintenance Company of Minneapolis, Minnesota, be accepted.
NOW THEREFORE IT IS HERBY RESOLVED; by the Mendota Heights City
Council as follows:
1. That the requested bids for the above project are hereby received and accepted.
2. That the bid of Zahl Petroleum Maintenance Company of Minneapolis, Minnesota,
submitted for the above described project is hereby accepted.
3. That the contract be awarded to Zahl Petroleum Maintenance Company of Minneapolis,
Minnesota, and that the Mayor and Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute
and deliver any and all documents necessary to consummate the awarding of said bids.
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Mendota Heights this 16th day of August 2011.
