2003-06-13 Friday News The Friday News June 13, 2003 Parks Celebration A Success The Parks Celebration was a success! Our Recreation Programmer, Teresa Gangelhoff, once again did an outstanding job in planning and organizing this annual event! Thanks for all of your hard work, Teresa!! Thank you also to our own Council Members Sandra Krebsbach and Ultan Duggan, Parks Commissioner Dave Libra, Larry Craighead, and Paul Portz; City employees Judy Wonick, Janet Bolger, Mario Reyes, Brian Convery, and Bekky Trost; and the Fire and Parks Departments for their generous volunteer time and contributions! Thank you to all of the area businesses for their generous donations. With all of your help and support, this event has become a wonderful tradition. Thank you once again to everyone who was a part of the Annual Parks Celebration. Skate Park at Roger’s Lake Park th Ramps and obstacles will be delivered and installed sometime around June 20. A ten-foot wide access gate to the former tennis courts was installed last week. Earlier this week, Public Works employees used an acetylene torch to cut off the net poles and will patch the holes to level the old court surface. Informational signage with “Rules of the Park” has also been ordered and will be mounted at the skate park. MSP Noise Oversight Committee Convenes At long last, the much-awaited MSP Noise Oversight Committee (NOC) has begun to meet. One of the first items that this body will be discussion is the Part 150 revision process. Please see the attached agenda for the MAC Full Commission meeting at 1:00 pm on Monday, June 16, 2003, including item A8 on the consent agenda. The Metropolitan Airports Commission will be considering approval of the forecast update provided by HNTB for use in developing the Part 150 revision. This revision will lead to a new set of noise contours that will determine future noise insulation. Please also see the attached memorandum from Chad Leqve, Manager of the Aviation Noise and Satellite Programs to the NOC dated June 11, 2003 regarding the forecast projection and the Part 150 update process.
