ORDINANCE NO. 480
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 7, CHAPTER 2 OF THE CITY CODE
PERTAINING TO FIRES OR BARBEQUES ON BALCONIES OR PATIOS
The City Council of the City of Mendota Heights, Minnesota ordains as follows:
The following language in Section 7-2-11 is hereby amended as follows:
7-2-11: FIRES OR BARBECUES ON BALCONIES OR PATIOS:
A. In any structure containing three or more dwellingtwe-(2)-ofigefe-vet+tc-��
r-esiden units, no person shall kindle, maintain, or cause any fire or open flame on any
balcony above ground level, or on any ground floor patio immediately adjacent to or within
fifteen feet (15') of any unit.
B. Fuel Storage Prohibited. No person shall store or use any fuel, barbecue, torch or similar
heating or lighting chemical or devices in eithef of the places eited in 9.1 of the lite ee&the
locations designated in Section A of this code.G. Use ef liquefied petroleum gas en baleenies
er- paties as deser-ibed in 9.1 of the fife eade or- ster-age in basefnefA shall be pfohibited.
D�Q. Exception: Listed electric or gas fired barbecue grills that are permanently mounted and
wired or plumbed to the building's gas supply or electrical system and that maintain a
minimum clearance as required by the manufaeturef and of 18 inches on all sides, unless
listed for lesser clearances, may be installed on balconies and patios when approved by the
oe-Aedpe -Aluther-it-yfire chief.
This ordinance shall take effect upon its adoption and publication according to law.
