MINVTES
December 11, 1963
1 The meeting convened at 8:00 p.m. in the village fire hall with Ed Broder,
Len Lustig, Dick Bancroft, Ed Stringer, Fred Brass and Hardy Wright present.
Also present regarding a proposed subdivision on Dodd Rd. was Dick Poor.
Present re case 63-6 were Erwin Stobbe and. Mrs. Mary Clemens. Also present
were Mayor Huber and Howard Dahlgren.
2 Dick Poor submitted a sketch indicating the desired road aid lot line
pattern for a two—lot subdivision. It was agreed that, with minor modification
and dedication of right—of—way, the pattern would be workable. Motion by
Stringer, seconded by Lustig that the commission indicate general approval
of the plan for Preparation of a Preliminary plat. Ayes 6, nayes 0.
3 Be case 63-6 Reward Dahlgren showed a sketch of a suggeeted subdivision of
Mayfield Heights. It met with the approval of the commission, Mrs. Clemens
and. Mr. Stobbe. A. meeting of the property owners was suggested. Howard.
Dahlgren agreed to have additional copies of the sketch made up and. Hardy
Wright agreed to send them out with an invitation to a meeting at his
home after the holidays.
4 Be case 63-1 Ivy Heights Addition, motion by Lustig, second. by Bancroft
that the commission recommend to the council that the platting be approved
subjedt to approval of easements by the village, engineer. Ayes 6, nayes 0.
An exchange of correspondence with Clerk Calkins was reviewed. Ed Broder
reported that Fred. Brass and. Dick Bancroft had expressed a desire to continue
on the commission and the names of Ben Griggs, John Phillips, Roy Young and
John Holman were mentioned as possible appointees.
6 Fred. .Bras and. 'd Stringer reported on a meeting with Mr. DeCoster in which
he expreihATTE village efforts to promote industrial development and
suggested that United. Properties, as major property holder, would warrant
special attention.
7 Mayor Huber outlined the concerns he felt should take up the attention of the
commission, suggesting that members take a look at how the comprehensive plan
is developing with woecial emphasis on the quality of industrial development.
He agreed rthAt a talk with United. Properties woald be valuable after agreement
was reached on what the village would attempt to do with a brochure. He suggested
that a recommendation for subdivision road development standard and the approval
of indastrial development plans by an architect be considered.
8 Mare was considerable discussion on the purpose of the proposed brochure and
the needs of the village for avenues of disseminating information needed by
developers, residents, realtors, industrial builders, and investors. It was
agreed that a special meeting should be scheduled on this subject by the
newly constituted commission early in the next year.
9 The meeting adjourned at 11:30 p.m.
