Schneeman H. Dahlgren, Midwest Planning E. Stringer, Trustee B. Genereaux, Secy, Absent: George Weed Charles Hebble Rolf Ljungkull called the meeting to order at 8:10 P M. Order of Business: Robert Buirl of Highland Heights requested information on procedure for subdivid- ing 4,1 acres of property on Marie and abutting Bream1's new development, Mr. Buirl was referred to Ed. Kishell, Village Engineer, Case 68-6 Applicant: American Oil Company 4940 Viking Drive, Minneapolis, Minnesota 55435, Applicant or representatives not present. Request: Variance on sign at Standard 031 Service Station 2030 Dodd Road, Mendota Heights, Minnesota 55118. Request permission to raise existing sign from Present permissible 25 ft elevation to 40 ft with stipulation that they then would lower sign 15 ft at their station at Highway #13 and Victoria for benefit of adjacent residents of Highland Heights. Action: Request rejected and recommendation was that sign at Standard Station at Highway #13 and Victoria should be lowered. An opinion was expressed that the contingent lowering of the Standard Station sign on Highway X13 appeared to be a blackmail type of action on the part of applicant. Request for information: Herman Lindbergh, Real Estate Representative for Murphy Oil Company presented a preliminary plot plan for exploring the possibility of a Murphy Oil Co Service Station at the north east corner of Highways 49 & 110, Other parties involved and present were; William Harazin, owner of land invloved Sigurd Solland, developer Dell Einess Vflien the commission informed Mr. Lindbergh that the road (Highway 49) abutting the property in question might become a cul de sac with the possible development of Highway 110 into a freeway, he deferred preceding any further until consulting with the State Highway Department, Ohse 68-7 Applicant: Arnold E. Vick 4424 Columbus Avenue South., Minneapolis, Minnesota Request: Variance to build a home on lot which does not abut public road. Lot involved is north 1/3 of lot #1 Burnxs Heights. The commission pointed out that development of the lot as requested involved problems of easement for utilities and fire protection by the village. Recommendation was that Mr. Vick consult with an adjacent land owner, Dr. Culligan for extension of an existing public road to service the lot. Meeting adjourned at 10:15 P. M.
