Res 2002- 09 Approving CUP/Variance @ 1970 Knob RdCITY OF MENDOTA HEIGHTS DAKOTA COUNTY, MINNESOTA RESOLUTION 02-09 A RESOLUTION APPROVING A CUP AND VARIANCE FOR A 960 SQUARE FOOT DETACHED GARAGE FOR ERIC C. HANZEL OF 1970 KNOB ROAD WHEREAS, Eric C. Hanzel of 1970 Knob Road has applied for a CUP and Variance for a 960 Square Foot Detached Garage as proposed in Planning Case #02-04; and WHEREAS, The Planning Commission held a public hearing on this application at their regular meeting on February 26, 2002; and WHEREAS, The Planning Commission voted 4-0 (with three Commissioners excused) to recommend that the Council approve the CUP and Variance for a 960 Square Foot Detached Garage as proposed in Planning Case #02-04 be approved on the grounds that although Mr. Hanel has a large lot, the design of the existing home does not accommodate an attached garage. NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mendota Heights that a CUP and Variance for a 960 Square Foot Detached Garage for Mr. Hanel of 1970 Knob Road as proposed in Planning Case #02-04 is hereby approved on the following condition: 1. The existing shed on the property shall be removed prior to the issuance of a building permit for the garage. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the CUP and Variance for a 960 Square Foot Detached Garage for Mr. Hanel of 1970 Knob Road as proposed in Planning Case #02-04 would not have an adverse impact on the health, safety, and general welfare of the citizens of the community and the surrounding land, and would not be adverse to the general purpose and intent of the Zoning Ordinance.
