Res 2002- 22 Accepting Engineers Report fro Street ReconCity of Mendota Heights Dakota County, Minnesota RESOLUTION NO. 02-22 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING ENGINEER'S REPORT AND CALLING FOR HEARING ON PROPOSED STREET RECONSTRUCTION AND REHABILITATION IMPROVEMENT PROJECT TO SERVE GAILAND HEIGHTS, JEFFERSON HEIGHTS, MORTENSEN'S ADDITION AND SURROUNDING AREAS (IMPROVEMENT NO. 2002, PROJECT NO. 1) WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Mendota Heights, Dakota County, Minnesota, deems it necessary and desirable to consider construction of the street reconstruction and rehabilitation improvements hereinafter described. WHEREAS, the City Engineer has submitted a report to the City Council with respect to the proposed reconstruction and rehabilitation of streets in the area referred to as the Freeway Road neighborhood and surrounding areas, to wit: Street reconstruction and rehabilitation improvements consisting of, but not limited to, the acquisition of right-of-way and/or easements, bituminous milling or reclamation, grading, stabilization, construction of storm pipes and drainage ways, and concrete curbs and gutters, and bituminous surfacing of streets situated in the Freeway Road neighborhood; and WHEREAS, the proposed assessment area for said improvements is situated within the City of Mendota Heights in Dakota County, Minnesota, and is more particularly described as follows: Those parcels proposed to be assessed for street reconstruction and rehabilitation improvements are those properties in Gailand Heights, Jefferson Heights, and Mortensen's Addition in the area referred to as the Freeway Road neighborhood that currently have driveway access from one of the streets abutting North Freeway Road, South Freeway Road, South Lane, Knob Road, and the segment of the frontage road north of Highway 110 west of South Lane, and WHEREAS, in said report said City Engineer reported that the proposed improvements and construction thereof were desirable and necessary, technically and economically feasible, cost effective, and further reported on the estimated cost of the proposed improvements. NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mendota Heights, Minnesota as follows: 1. That the report of said City Engineer be and is hereby received. 2. That a public hearing on said improvements be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2002 at 8:00 o'clock P.M. or as soon as possible thereafter, at the Mendota Heights City Hall, 1101 Victoria Curve in the City of Mendota Heights. 3. That the City Clerk, with the aid and assistance of the City Attorney, be and is hereby authorized and directed to prepare a notice of said hearing and to cause said notice to be published and mailed to the owners of the property situated within said area, all in accordance with applicable Minnesota Statutes.
