RESOLUTION 02-57
A RESOLUTION APPROVING A ONE -FOOT FRONT -YARD SETBACK
VARIANCE FOR A COVERED STOOP AS PRESENTED TO THE COUNCIL
ON OCTOBER 1, 2002 FOR 2506 HAVERTON CIRCLE
WHEREAS, David R. Chapman of 2506 Haverton Circle had applied for a
Setback Variance for a Covered Porch as proposed in Planning Case #02-36; and
WHEREAS, The Planning Commission held a public hearing on this application
at their regular meeting on September 24, 2002; and
WHEREAS, The Planning Commission voted 7-0 to recommend that the Council
deny the Setback Variance as originally proposed in Planning Case #02-36; and
WHEREAS, in light of the Planning Commission's recommendation of denial,
Mr. Chapman presented a revised proposal for a One -Foot Front -Yard Setback Variance
for a covered stoop as shown on the revised elevation drawing that he presented to the
Council and according to his verbal testimony to the Council on the evening of October
1, 2002
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Mendota Heights that a One -Foot Front -Yard Setback Variance for a covered
stoop as shown on the revised elevation drawing that the applicant presented to the
Council and according to the applicant's verbal testimony to the Council on the evening
of October 1, 2002 is hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the One -Foot Front -Yard Setback Variance
for a covered stoop as shown on the revised elevation drawing that he presented to the
Council and according to his verbal testimony to the Council on the evening of October
1, 2002 would not have an adverse impact on the health, safety, and general welfare of
the citizens of the community and the surrounding land, and would not be adverse to the
general purpose and intent of the Zoning Ordinance.
